It’s time to plan for what may just be the most exciting day of your life! Here at Ferns Hideaway we would love to make this day as beautiful and as stress free as we possibly can.

We have a range of different menus for you to choose from, so you could have a gorgeous, classy evening with a 3 course meal… Or a more casual style dinner with pre-dinner nibblies and a delicious meal, then party on through the night. Remember, this is your special day so let us know what you prefer.

If you need assistance, we have some great suggestions for photographers, celebrants, marquee hire, suit and bridal hire. We can even help you to theme your reception room, and show you photo’s of past weddings and their themes.

Inhouse Entertainment

Ferns Hideaway has its very own in-house, resident singer and band. The entertainers are experienced and competent musicians, and can play most styles of music. They are very aware and sensitive to the necessity of playing at whisper low volumes for diners and love guests to join them for a number or two if they so desire. 

Ceremony & Reception

The time of the day you choose to have your ceremony usually determines what kind of reception will follow. Morning ceremonies are usually followed with a lunch reception; an afternoon wedding is usually proceeded by hors-d’oevres in the gardens and a sit down dinner to follow. These can be either informal or formal; it really depends on what kind of ceremony you choose to have.

As you and your guests will dine in our restaurant, you will enjoy at no extra cost

1.      Live music for hours on end in a party atmosphere with lots of dancing. Song requests and guest artists are welcomed.

2.      At any time during the day you may have unlimited use of  all equipment supplied as following-

A)    Swimming pool and heated spa

B)    Tennis Court

C)    A full fleet of Canadian canoes

D)    Sand Volleyball court

E)    Social cricket pitch

F)   Badminton and associated games

                                G)    Bushwalks and creek swimming

Restaurant

Our licensed restaurant is a colonial styled building with seating for 120 people; it features a log fire and panoramic views of the surrounding wildlife and forest.

We have a fully stocked bar with most standard beers, spirits and wines available, however we can also pre-order any specific beers or wines should you request them for your wedding celebrations

Minimum Guest Requirements

Our restaurant can seat and cater for up to 120 guests inside.  We require a minimum of 25 guests for a sit down meal to offer our restaurant for dinner on any night of the week excluding Saturday night (as we are open every Saturday night regardless).

To ensure you have the whole restaurant as the sole premises of your function, we require a minimum of 60 guests to enjoy a meal with Ferns Hideaway.  If your function consists of less than 60 guests attending, there will be individual bookings accepted from independent travelers or other in-house guests.  However, we will do our best to allocate your group to be seated close together.

As our restaurant is opened every day of the week for lunch from 12:00 – 2:00pm, also morning and afternoon tea from 10:00am – 4:00pm, there are no minimum person requirements during these hours.  

Once off set-up fee

We do not charge a room hire fee for the use of our restaurant, however we do charge a once off
set-up fee of $200.00 for the setting up of outside chairs for your wedding ceremony, tables and
chairs for your reception and any other requests you may have for your wedding day.

Decorations

You may decorate your tables as you desire with your own supplies.  Ferns Hideaway do
supply white linen table clothes included in the $200.00 set up fee for Weddings and formal
occasions.  White linen napkins may be ordered and are an additional charge of .50c per person.

Security Deposit

To ensure that your reservations are secure and confirmed, a $500.00    deposit is required to be forwarded to Ferns Hideaway six months  prior to your wedding date to hold your accommodation
and/or the restaurant as your wedding venue. 

         Additional Information

            If you wish to have your wedding cake sliced, plated and served with cream for each guest as a
dessert, there is a charge of $3.00 per person attending your reception.
 

Accommodation

The following information is a detailed description of our accommodation inclusions and options.

ALL CABINS: (4 x Cabins) $150 per couple Per night + $10 per extra person per night

WATTYL HOUSE: (up to 10 people) $30.00 per person.

CAMPING: $12.00 per person per night.

 

LINEN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICES QUOTED ABOVE, AS WE DO NOT HAVE A LINEN SERVICE IN THE BYFIELD REGION.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE LINEN PROVIDED, THIS WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 ONCE OFF CHARGE PER PERSON PER STAY.  If you wish to provide your own linen, you will need to bring along sheets, pillowslips and towels.

Children are charged as per adults unless they are not yet attending school, such as 5 years and under – then they stay in accommodation free of charge.

We do allow our guests to bring additional bedding to accommodate more people in each cabin if desired.  If you do decide to do so, this will be an additional $10.00 per person per night as per usual. 

Bedding configurations are as follows:

IRONBARK CABIN:
Open plan including a queen bed, 2 single beds and 2 single trundle beds.

BANKSIA CABIN:
Open plan including a queen bed, 2 single beds and 2 single trundle beds.

PIONEER CABIN:
Open plan including a queen bed, a double fold out futon and 2 single beds.

HERITAGE CABIN:
Open plan including a queen bed, a double fold out futon and 2 single beds.

WATTYL HOUSE:
4 Separate bedrooms, each bedroom has a double bed and one of the rooms also has 2 single beds additional to the double.

Check-in time is from 11:00am onwards and Check-out time is prior to 10:00am.
